Five years after your Conservative councillors developed the first 'micro park' in Stirchley; the second 'micro park' is near to completion.
Five years ago your Conservative councillors found the funding necessary to create the first ‘micro park’ on the Pershore Road in Stirchley near to Cartland Road (lower photo).
A tired and worn out grass embankment was transformed, with landscaping, trees, bulbs and furniture, into a small oasis of calm next to the noise and bustle of the Pershore Road. It has subsequently been a great success and popular with both residents and nearby retailers, providing a welcoming sight to Stirchley visitors.
It was always our intention to gradually extend the scheme further along the Pershore Road.
We are very excited to announce that our second ‘micro park’ is under development on the adjacent site to the first ‘micro park’ (top photo) and should be completed by the spring. It is a piece of land that has recently had some flood work done beneath it by Severn Trent and this has provided us the opportunity to redevelop the site as a new 'micro park'.
It is all part of your local Conservative team's ongoing plans in Stirchley to enhance both the High Street and the local open spaces.
