The Labour council has once again withdrawn the threat of dismissal to all our our crossing patrol wardens after threatening them with the sack barely a few months ago as a part of their ongoing cost saving process.
Local Conservatives see this as just some cynical political stunt. First you threaten such valued employees; then months later you withdraw the threat to demonstrate your willingness to listen to the public's concerns.
As Nigel Dawkins said, 'What a rotten, cruel bunch they are in this Labour council that they should play such political games with the jobs and lives of people who protect our children on a daily basis.
